Baronie Alphen aan den Rijn
From an old rundown chocolate factory to very modern apartments and shops.
The largest industrial monument of Alphen aan den Rijn, the Baronie was built in 1954 with aid of the Marshall plan, but the last years the building was empty and ruined.
On the place where a decade ago 180,000 chocolates per day were produced, a modern and well-designed living, working and shopping area has been created by the S2 architects from Amsterdam. This project is sponsored by Green Real Estate. The shop building consists of 14 retail units, 2 large supermarkets, 6 homes and 450 parking spaces. Chameo, commissioned by Lieftink Geveltechniek delivered and installed automatic doors for this amazing project.
